At Walk In Wardrobes, we pride ourselves on creating tailor-made storage solutions that combine style, function, and practicality. For this walk-in wardrobe project, our team embraced the challenge of transforming this space into a personalized and luxurious dressing room that was both functional and visually stunning.
The design for the walk-in wardrobe was laid out in two distinct sections, maximizing every inch of the available space. In the main area, we created a functional, organized space for double hanging racks, offering easy access to both shorter garments like shirts, skirts, and jackets, as well as longer pieces like coats, dresses, and gowns. We strategically placed shelving in areas where space was optimal, perfect for displaying or storing handbags, shoes, and other accessories. The shelving units were designed to fit seamlessly into the overall design, maintaining a clean and organized aesthetic.
Reclining clothes lifts were incorporated into the upper sections of the wardrobe to facilitate easy access to clothing on higher shelves. These lifts allowed the client to effortlessly lower hanging clothes to a more accessible height, ensuring that even the highest shelves were not a hassle to reach. This is particularly beneficial for storing seasonal items or garments that are not in regular use.
One of the highlights of this bespoke wardrobe was the custom drawers designed specifically by the client. These four top drawers were tailored for delicate items such as watches, sunglasses, and jewelry, offering a secure and organized space for these high-value items. The design of these drawers focused on accessibility and security, with soft-close mechanisms that provided a smooth and quiet closure. The careful consideration of storage needs for such items ensured that everything from accessories to clothing was organized to perfection.
For the lighting, we incorporated a LED strip light into the base of the wardrobe, providing a soft, warm light throughout the entire space. The 5000 lumens of light were just the right brightness to illuminate the wardrobe without being too harsh. The LED strip was integrated into the design with a touch button dimmer, allowing the client to adjust the brightness to their preferred level. This level of control allowed for the creation of different moods within the space, whether for getting ready in the morning or relaxing in the evening.
On the opposite side of the walk-in wardrobe, we designed a secondary area under the Velux window. Here, we included additional drawers to maximize storage under the slanted ceiling. This area was tailored to the space constraints, ensuring that the drawers were both functional and accessible. In the space behind these drawers, we created a dressing area with a full-length mirror, providing the client with the perfect place to get ready and check their outfit.
To add an extra layer of sophistication, all of the drawer fronts and gable ends were V-grooved, a detail that added subtle elegance and texture to the design. These V-grooves were then sprayed in Farrow & Ball Smoked Green, a warm and timeless hue that complemented the overall aesthetic of the room. The muted green color brought a sense of tranquility and relaxation to the space, creating a serene environment that would encourage the client to enjoy the process of getting ready.
The entire walk-in wardrobe was designed with a clear focus on organization, accessibility, and beauty. Every piece of furniture, from the double hanging sections to the custom drawers, was carefully crafted to create a luxurious and functional space. The high-end finishes, attention to detail, and incorporation of the client’s personal preferences resulted in a wardrobe that was not just a place for clothes, but a sophisticated dressing room that matched the quality of the rest of the house.
