Requirements / The Challenge:

For this project, located in a newly built home in Thurles, Co. Tipperary, the client required a bespoke sliding wardrobe system that would fit perfectly between the master bedroom and ensuite bathroom. The challenge here was to create a wardrobe that was not only functional but also integrated seamlessly into the room layout, balancing the needs of storage, style, and space optimization.

The home was a modern new build, and the clients wanted the wardrobe to blend harmoniously with the contemporary aesthetic of the rest of the home. However, this presented a challenge in terms of the layout and how to fit the wardrobe between two adjoining rooms—the master bedroom and the ensuite—without making the space feel cramped or overwhelming.

Additionally, the clients requested a highly organized storage solution that could accommodate various clothing items, shoes, and accessories, while also including specialized features such as reclining clothes lifts. These lifts were an important part of the design, as they would make it easier for the clients to access their clothing stored at higher levels in the wardrobe. The sliding doors also had to be carefully designed to suit the overall design of the space, while offering an elegant touch that would enhance the room’s overall aesthetic.

Our Solution / Project Description:

At WalkInWardrobes.ie, we specialize in creating custom-made wardrobe systems that are tailored to our clients’ specific needs and space requirements. For this project, we delivered a wall-to-wall sliding wardrobe system that maximized the available space between the master bedroom and ensuite, providing a seamless transition between the two rooms while offering ample storage.

1. Sliding Wardrobe Design – Wall-to-Wall Custom Fit:

Given the nature of the space—nestled between the master bedroom and the ensuite—the wardrobe needed to be perfectly customized to fit wall-to-wall. We designed the wardrobe to fit snugly between the two walls, ensuring that no space was wasted while still leaving enough room for both doors to function smoothly. The sliding doors were the perfect solution for this project, as they allowed the wardrobe to be opened and closed without taking up extra floor space, a crucial consideration for a shared wall between two rooms.

The overall design of the wardrobe took full advantage of the available height and depth, creating an impressive yet functional storage space. We used a combination of hanging rods, shelving, and drawers to provide a variety of storage options. This design gave the clients plenty of room for their hanging clothes, shoes, accessories, and other belongings while ensuring everything was easily accessible and organized.

2. Reclining Clothes Lifts:

As part of the wardrobe system, we incorporated two reclining clothes lifts, which were installed at the higher levels of the wardrobe. These lifts allowed the clients to store clothing that is used less frequently or items they wish to keep out of sight, such as winter coats or seasonal clothing. With the reclining mechanism, the clothes lifts could be gently lowered to provide easy access, offering practicality and comfort to the wardrobe system.

The reclining clothes lifts not only served as a convenient feature but also enhanced the overall design of the wardrobe. They provided a space-efficient solution for storing bulky or oversized items while maintaining a clean and organized appearance in the wardrobe.

3. Doors – Elegant Pearl White Glass and Mirror with Champagne Frame:

One of the standout features of this wardrobe system is the doors, which were made from a combination of pearl white glass and mirror, framed in our signature Evoke Champagne frame. The pearl white glass gave the wardrobe a sleek, modern appearance, while the mirrored panels added a sense of depth and light to the space, creating a luxurious feel without compromising functionality.

The mirror panels not only added elegance but also served a practical purpose, allowing the clients to easily check their outfits as they got dressed. The Evoke Champagne frame was chosen for its subtle yet sophisticated color, offering a refined and timeless look that complemented the overall style of the bedroom and ensuite.

4. Interior Design and Functionality – White Interior with Ivory Surround:

Inside the wardrobe, we used a white interior for a fresh, clean look that allowed the client’s clothes to stand out. This interior finish created a sense of lightness and spaciousness, helping to make the wardrobe feel larger and more open. The ivory surround provided a soft contrast to the white interior, creating a sense of warmth and elegance.

The combination of shelves, drawers, and hanging rods was carefully designed to offer a variety of storage solutions. We included drawers for smaller items such as accessories, shelves for folded clothes or storage baskets, and hanging rods for long garments like dresses and coats. This comprehensive and organized storage system allowed the clients to easily store their clothing, shoes, and accessories while keeping the space tidy and clutter-free.

5. Efficient and Stylish Use of Space:

By choosing a sliding wardrobe system, we were able to maximize storage capacity without compromising the flow of the room. The sliding doors offered ease of access, and the wall-to-wall design ensured that no space was wasted. The wardrobe was designed to not only offer ample storage but also to enhance the overall aesthetic of the bedroom and ensuite, creating a seamless transition between the two areas.

The wardrobe was custom-built to fit the specific dimensions of the space, ensuring a perfect fit that blended beautifully with the room’s overall design. The clean, sleek lines of the sliding doors, combined with the Evoke Champagne frame, gave the wardrobe a high-end, modern feel that matched the clients’ vision for their new home.
