Requirements / The Challenge:

This project was a new build home in County Kerry, where the client sought a bespoke sliding wardrobe solution that would serve as a stunning feature in the master bedroom. The challenge presented was to design a wardrobe that not only contributed to the room’s aesthetic appeal but also provided ample storage to keep the space organized and functional. As the home was part of a development project aimed at high-caliber buyers, the wardrobe needed to seamlessly blend with the luxury and style of the rest of the house.

The room itself was spacious, but the client wanted to ensure that the wardrobe would fill the space efficiently without overwhelming it. They desired a solution that maximized storage but kept the bedroom looking clean and tidy. They also wanted the wardrobe to be a beautiful, elegant addition that would add value to the property and elevate its overall design.

Furthermore, the client requested that the wardrobe’s design be modern and minimalist, with clean lines and high-quality materials. It was important that the wardrobe system was highly organized, offering a combination of hanging space, shelving, and drawers to store clothing, shoes, and accessories. The client also wanted the doors to be an eye-catching feature, which would blend with the room’s color scheme and bring a sense of openness and light to the space.

Given the high expectations for both function and aesthetics, we had to ensure that every detail of the wardrobe was meticulously planned and executed.

Our Solution / Project Description:

To meet the client’s requirements and exceed their expectations, our team designed and installed a custom four-door sliding wardrobe that perfectly complemented the new build’s modern, elegant style. The goal was to make the wardrobe a focal point in the bedroom, transforming it from a functional storage solution into a key design element that enhanced the overall look and feel of the room.

Maximizing Space with Full-Height Sliding Doors

The room’s spacious layout provided the perfect opportunity for a large wardrobe, but the key challenge was ensuring that the wardrobe’s size didn’t feel overpowering in the room. We decided to install a wall-to-wall sliding wardrobe to maximize the available space without compromising the room’s open, airy feel. Full-height sliding doors were the perfect choice for this design, as they created a seamless look and eliminated the need for swinging doors that could take up additional space in the room.

The sliding doors were crafted with a sleek, pure white glass finish, which helped the wardrobe blend effortlessly with the room’s color palette while offering a fresh, contemporary look. The glass also added a touch of sophistication and brightness to the space, making the room feel more expansive. To give the wardrobe a high-end, polished appearance, the doors were framed in our Evoke chrome frame. This chrome detailing added an elegant and luxurious finish, contributing to the overall sense of refinement in the design.

Optimized Interior with Shelving, Hanging, and Drawers

Inside the wardrobe, the design focused on providing the client with maximum organization and accessibility. A combination of shelving, hanging space, and drawers was incorporated into the design to ensure that the wardrobe would meet all the client’s storage needs. We used a mix of open shelves and drawers to create a well-organized, user-friendly space for the client’s clothing, shoes, and accessories.

The shelving was designed to be adjustable, allowing the client to customize the wardrobe layout according to their specific needs. Shelves were used for items such as shoes, handbags, and folded clothes, while dedicated hanging sections were included for garments that needed to be kept wrinkle-free, such as suits, dresses, and coats. A set of drawers was included for smaller items like scarves, belts, and accessories, helping to maintain order and accessibility.

The combination of hanging space, drawers, and open shelves allowed the client to organize their wardrobe in a way that made it easy to find and access items quickly. The sliding doors helped keep everything hidden away when not in use, maintaining the room’s clean, minimalist aesthetic.

Elegance and Practicality Combined

The wardrobe’s sleek, modern look was complemented by its practical design elements. The interior was finished in a light grey and white color scheme that was both soft and neutral, ensuring the wardrobe would seamlessly integrate with the room’s existing décor. The light grey finish on the interior surfaces provided a calm, soothing backdrop, while the white glass doors created a sense of openness and lightness, making the bedroom feel more spacious.

The chrome frame around the sliding doors added a touch of luxury without being overpowering. This metal detailing not only provided structural integrity to the doors but also introduced a subtle industrial elegance to the design, aligning with the modern, upscale feel of the home. The materials used were high-quality, ensuring both durability and beauty that would stand the test of time.

Wood Used

For this project, we carefully selected the perfect mix of wood finishes to ensure the wardrobe’s functionality and aesthetic appeal. The combination of light grey and white finishes was chosen for its ability to create a harmonious and sophisticated look that complemented the modern, clean lines of the sliding doors.

Light Grey and White Wood Finish

The interior of the wardrobe was finished in a mix of light grey and white wood, both of which contributed to the wardrobe’s stylish yet calming atmosphere. The light grey wood veneer was used on the shelves and drawer fronts, providing a soft contrast against the pure white glass doors. The grey wood added depth and richness to the design while maintaining a light, neutral tone that was perfect for the client’s modern bedroom.

The white wood finish was used for other areas of the interior, such as the back panels and certain shelving sections, to enhance the feeling of brightness and space. The combination of light grey and white created a balanced, serene environment that allowed the wardrobe to blend seamlessly with the rest of the room’s décor.

The wood was carefully treated and lacquered to provide a smooth, durable surface that would resist scratches and stains, ensuring the wardrobe would remain pristine for years to come. The high-quality wood and finishes used in this project also ensured that the wardrobe would maintain its beauty and function over time.
